Phase 1 — Deconstruction/​demolition (involves asbestos, mould, lead and PCB abate­ment) of the Cen­tral Heat­ing Plant (CHP) build­ing. Phase 2 — Aban­don­ment of the Tun­nel Dis­tri­b­u­tion Sys­tem lead­ing from the CHP to other build­ings on the CEF prop­erty and fill­ing it with con­crete. Hard and soft land­scap­ing reme­di­a­tion of CHP site.

St. Teresa CES Demo­li­tion
Owner: Water­loo Catholic Dis­trict School Board
Con­sul­tant: IBI Group Archi­tects
Project Value: $190K

Removed 2 exist­ing class­rooms and adja­cent cor­ri­dor (4,500 sq.ft.) from occu­pied school. Restored the building’s struc­tural framing/​foundation, sid­ing, roof, soffit/​eaves and installed new entrance door. Cre­ated fenced play­ground area and asphalt walkway.
